The Fountains of Silence takes place in 1957, during the rule of General Francisco Franco. Spain is hiding a dark secret–they are taking away babies of Republican families and giving them to Franco's supporters and telling these families that their babies have died.

In the month of February the BHS Book Club met to discuss The Fountains of Silence by Ruta SepetysThe group overall enjoyed the book. One students even stated "I like historical fiction now, because of this book." Though the book started off slow. It did pick up more towards the end. When asked if they would read more books by this author. The group said yes.
